The first of a series of ten Christmas scenes Thom painted yearly for the occasion (since Thom’s favorite holiday is Christmas!). Note the year 1990 is shown as the address of the cottage.  Thom said that the best compliment he gets for his holiday scenes is when someone says, “I wish I could be there this Christmas.”  He said that painting this series is a way that “each of us share the same inner dream of our ideal Christmas.”
