Homestead House is based upon a real plantation house in Louisiana.  Thom and Nanette toured this house when it opened to the public.   You can see the initials for Rhett Butler and Scarlet O’Hara on the tree.

Homestead House, is the first painting in my Great American Mansions collection. With its stately Doric columns and imposing facade, this is the very essence of the plantation style... truly a grand mansion that would have delighted Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler.
